The type of personal information we collect;

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details)

  • Email address

  • Home address

  • Contact Numbers, (for example, home phone number and mobile number)

  • Business or work address should you ask us to carry out electrical work at your work or office location.

How we get the personal information and why we have it;

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you from either a phone call, email, our website, Facebook, google or details passed to us from other tradesmen for one of the following reasons:

  • To offer you our electrical services.

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios;

  • A builder, other tradesmen or building company passing us your information to inform us of your electrical requirements to which we will contact you asking whether you require us to undertake this work for you or undertake the work on behalf of the building company at your address. 

We use the information that you have given us in order to;

  • Contact you in order to offer you our electrical services.

  • Produce electrical certificates and building control notifications in regards to your electrical work.

  • To apply for electrical services at your address (for example, contacting the national grid for a supply upgrade or applying to install an electric car charger at your address).

We may share this information with;

  • A builder, other tradesmen or building company should we need to use sub-contractor’s or other labour at your address.

  • Contacting the national grid for example a supply upgrade, applying to install an electric car charger at your address or reporting a dangerous supply issue.

  • A debt recovery agency should we need to recover any unpaid invoices which are outstanding. We will send final warnings before we take legal action.

  • Our Electrical governing body NAPIT who assess our electrical work. NAPIT can request to survey our work at your address in order to access our compliance with BS7671. We will contact you prior to this assessment taking place. 

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are;

  • Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us on our contact details above.

  • We have a contractual obligation.

  • We have a legitimate interest.

How we store your personal information and for how long;

Your information is securely stored on our computer software using two step authenticators.

We keep contact details, name, address, phone numbers and email addresses for as long as DMO Electrical Services Southwest is operating. This is needed for the electrical certification aspect of our work should we need to reissue or duplicate a certificate in the future to prove our compliance with BS7671 at the property in question. We also retain your details on our estimating system should you wish to have further electrical work carried out in the future. We are able to dispose of your information on request.

Your data protection rights. Under data protection law, you have rights including;

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
